Hi:
bilateral mastectomy & lymph nodes removed and wondering if anyone else has puffy skin with indent under armpit where lymph nodes surgery was. It's quite puffy and hoping it will eventually get flatter. It's been 4 weeks after surgery now. really noticeable and hope with time it will disappear. do some women have this skin removed. not wanting any other surgeries later.
thanks

Hi Bailey,
I had a mastectomy and lymph node removal as well in July. I had a bit of puffiness under the arm, but nothing too bad. I would say by 4 weeks it wasn't really noticeable. Maybe you should call the doctor and just let them know. I do know it was hard to get my arm to move-quite painful! I pushed it everyday and it did help, gentle range of motion should help with the swelling too, I would think.
Take care,
Nadine

Hi - just new to this site......
I had a bilateral mastectomy and 8 lymph nodes removed April 19. I am still healing and have small "bulges" under each armpit now. My surgeon says I can see a plastic surgeon if they bother me too much. I am probably having chemo though, so I imagine it has to wait until after that....... I will probably only have one removed as it is largest. Kind of like small "boobs" !! I am overweight and the surgeon said he had to quit cutting somewhere so I guess this might be a result of that ?? I have spoken with a few other ladies and they have the same thing. Good luck !!
